Healing in the Nations

Revelation 22:1,2 1)Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2)down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.
Each leaf had the name of a sickness, disease, or condition we, with the boys from the Hope House, were asking God to remove from the Nations.


While we were still in South Africa we spoke at an awesome village church. Pastor Simon and Edith lead this body of black South Africans.

Pastor Simon currently attends a Bible School that Pastor Wernich has established. This church has grown from a small number of people to over 300 believers. Their church leaders received some teaching and assistance in the area of financial accountability from Wernich. This is one of the only African Churches we have attended where they teach and understand financial principals of tithing, sowing and reaping, and stewardship. Seth preached on a Wednesday night.

The worship was phenomenal; it was LOUD, joyful, and very active!! You could not sit still. Toward the end of the service Seth, Wernich , and I prayed for about 25 people and there were 5 healings reported: Chest pain 100% gone, Headache 100% gone, Stomach Ache 100% gone, horrible Arthritic Pain 100% gone, Hearing Loss: some level of improvement; We also prayed over more people with hearing loss (perhaps due to the VERY loud worship??!?), HIV, and various other illnesses. We aren’t sure what level of healing these individuals have received, but we are trusting they encountered Jesus as we prayed for them.

We have been able to pray over people for healing everywhere we have gone, but one of the most satisfying experiences we've had has been teaching the boys in Angie's Hope House ministry. Our intention was not to preach AT them or LECTURE them, but rather to equip them and impart the things that are in us to them. Seth was able to teach on healing and praying for the sick. He taught on this before our medical outreach with the intention of giving the Hope House boys some hands on experience praying over the sick. While he was teaching he used Dan Lillis as his "guinea pig".

Seth asked Dan to make up an ailment for the sake of illustration and then they would go through some steps to learn how to pray for someone. Well, Dan actually had pain in his back. As Seth was teaching the boys how to pray, Dan experienced 100% relief from the pain in his back. The cool thing is that Dan didn't tell Seth that he also had pain that was much worse than his back pain in his shoulder. As Seth was teaching and Armando was interpreting Dan's shoulder pain (that they did NOT pray for) completely left as well. That's pretty cool when you are teaching on healing and the Holy Spirit shows up in class and does "the stuff" right there in front of your eyes....Cool God we serve.

Hi MaryBeth, loved reading your post and seeing your pictures. The pictures are wonderful and make it so much more real and able to see what you are talking about. We miss you and the kids. How is little Hannah doing? And you guys are you getting rest? The puppies are adorable and doing well, Sierra is a little hyper but doing well too! We are fighting the heat, is it hot there? Love you so much!
