Welcome to Thailand!

We made it to Thailand! We were two hours late but finally arrived around 1:00 am, February 2, Thai time. We only spent two very short days here before leaving for Sri Lanka.  Bangkok is a great airline hub, so to get the best prices on our tickets we decided we'd fly through Bangkok, take a few days to get over jet lag, and get more passport pages added to Mary Beth' s passport.  Her passport was full and because we would have had to put a "rush" to fill the passport with extra pages from California before we left it was going to cost around $60.  By going through the US embassy in Bangkok we simply dropped it off and picked it up an hour later FOR FREE.   Yeah!! Sadly they did not like the idea of us taking a picture in front of the embassy, so we have no photos to remember this part of the journey.  :-(

Here we all are in the Bangkok International Airport after 30 LONG hours of travel time. A short 35 hours from the time we took this picture we will be repacking our bags and heading back to the airport to fly through Malaysia to Sri Lanka! Whew!  Needless to say, apart from pictures we don't remember much about the whirlwind of those first few day "on the road".  LOL

The flavors of Asia are everywhere.  Thailand is primarily a Buddhist nation, but this Hindu "artwork" reminds us of the many different religions throughout Asia and how much Jesus longs to breath His life on them so their hearts will be brought to life as they encounter the goodness of His love.

Jonathan's first new friend (at the YWAM base in Bangkok)! The kids are going to love Asia!!!!!!!!!!

This pictures say it all! "Do we have to leave Thailand?" Our family
motto has become: "We don't say good-bye; we only say, 'Until we meet again, here
on earth or in heaven!'"
