Spitting into Waterfalls

Last week, we spent time visiting breathtaking waterfalls. Alicia, Beulah, Wernich and Ethan took us from spot to spot highlighting different interesting facts for us. Alicia (the youth pastor) tells the most animated, hilarious stories...non-stop. She is fun, adventurous, energetic, bold, unafraid, and she loves Jesus with all her heart...she possesses every quality that makes a youth leader great and the parents of the youth slightly afraid . Well, when we got out at one of the waterfalls and she headed off down this path marked "Do Not Go Beyond This Point!!!" I figured she must know what she was doing, AND since my three boys were right behind her way down the trail ahead of me, I decided to follow (quite naively, I might add). You have to understand that these rivers and waterfalls are not peaceful, bubbling brooks; they are raging rivers rushing off sheer cliffs. As I followed down the path I noticed that the trail was getting more and more narrow and that the cliff was getting closer to the trail with each step. My stomach started to turn with fear at the thought of one of my kids tripping and falling to their death. Alicia leading the boys to... THE cliff!
It was a horrible feeling. The next thing I know, Alicia had all three of the boys on their knees inching their way to the edge so they could "spit" off the cliff into the waterfall...of course what young boy wouldn't LOVE that experience?!!? They were in heaven; I was having an anxiety attack...or perhaps God was just trying to stretch my faith? LOL We all lived and are better for the experience! I must admit we had a blast...and no one, NOT EVEN ME wet their pants. lol (It was a very close call though. :-))

Spitting Over The Edge

The spitting "occurred" near the whitish area to the right of the Falls about 1/3 of the way down the falls.
