Loving on Leaders

Seth and I love to REFRESH leaders. We've been tired before. ;-) We have brothers and sisters who have refreshed us through the years by speaking words of life and encouragement, standing together with us through tough seasons, serving the vision God has given us, etc. When you are refreshed it really empowers you to run hard and strong after all the things the Lord has put in you to do.

So then, we really desire to see others encouraged and refreshed WHERE they are, doing WHAT they are called to do…so they can run hard, drink in His empowering presence, and minister and serve others from a place of abundance. One of the main driving forces behind what we do is to refresh and encourage
others so they can run hard...for the long haul. It's a marathon we're in, not a sprint.

A highlight for us during our time here in Nelspruit has been ministering to the core leaders of Oasis Revival Center. One night we prepared a huge American meal. Seth planned a great menu: shis-ka-bobs, Becky Peterson’s twice baked potatoes (a MAJOR hit, for which we can take NO credit...Thanks Becky!!), salad, homemade cheese bread, and ice-cream floats. After we ate, we took four people at a time into room that we had prepared for them.Joshua and Josiah ministered by washing their hands and feet and praying over each individual. Seth prayed over each leader and anointed them with the special anointing oil that Stephany Kern made specifically for this trip. I ministered prophetically to each individual. (I know I have friends reading this from many different denominational backgrounds. Prophetic ministry is simply being quiet and listening to what the Lord is saying as I/we pray and then sharing what is heard. It is always encouraging to hear the good things God is saying to us and about us, huh?) We also had a table set up with cards that many of you made for these leaders. Karen prayed over each individual and asked the Lord for a specific scripture and word for them. She rolled these up into pretty scrolls; one for each leader. Hannah, Jonathan, Josiah, and Joshua all took some time and asked the Lord to help them draw a picture that would bless someone else (we call this prophetic art). It was a great night and fun to have everyone involved. After their pictures were done, the kids explained what they felt like God was saying through each picture. I wrote those things down on each card they drew. It is amazing to see how the Lord uses even the youngest in His kingdom, huh? There is NO junior Holy Spirit. When we give our hearts to Jesus, we all the Full Measure . I love to watch them listen to the Lord quietly and then tell me what they hear. Some of the pictures seem a little weird sometimes, but when I take time to listen to what God is showing them, these kids that many would consider to be the most inexperienced and untrained, I am ALWAYS blown away by the depth of what they are hearing!!! "...except you become like a little child...."

Over the course of two nights we ministered to 21 leaders. One gentleman that we ministered to told us that this had been one of the most significant moments in his life. MMMMmmmmm! God is good.
